# Sponsor / Platform Review — Bandcamp

## Status

**Open discussion. Not sent. No Bandcamp response recorded.**

This document is a prospective sponsor/platform review brief for **Bandcamp**. It is not a claim of sponsorship, partnership, endorsement, affiliation, approval, or participation.

## The project

**50 Ways to Leave Another** is a public, music-first development record exploring:

- artist-owned music and direct-to-fan relationships;
- interactive listening and music-learning experiences;
- rights-aware production and provenance;
- accessible participation pathways;
- a model in which independent artists can decide which digital uses they want to authorize.

The project is intentionally being developed in public so creators, platforms, educators, technical contributors, and counsel can identify what is useful, what is incomplete, and what must be changed before a real transaction.

## Why Bandcamp is being considered

Bandcamp is being considered as a potential **sponsor, platform collaborator, educational/resource partner, or strategic reviewer** because its public-facing services are relevant to independent music distribution and direct artist/fan relationships.

This is a hypothesis for discussion. It is not a statement that Bandcamp has expressed interest.

## The ask

We invite an appropriate Bandcamp representative to:

1. review the model;
2. correct anything we misunderstand about Bandcamp's products, policies, creator relationships, or business priorities;
3. identify the appropriate contact if this should go through another team;
4. decline the proposal or request no further contact;
5. consider a future sponsorship, platform, educational, or strategic relationship **only under terms acceptable to Bandcamp and the project**.

Possible forms of participation could include platform guidance, educational support, sponsorship, creator-resource collaboration, or another structure proposed by Bandcamp. Nothing is assumed.

## What we would want to discuss if there is interest

Any actual relationship would be negotiated separately and could address:

- exact scope and deliverables;
- sponsorship or other consideration;
- branding and attribution;
- platform integrations;
- artist participation and permissions;
- content and intellectual-property rights;
- data, privacy, and accessibility requirements;
- publicity and announcement rights;
- term and termination;
- approval rights;
- applicable law and dispute provisions.

No such terms currently exist merely because this proposal is published.

## Legal / clearance boundary

**The 50 Ways site has not been legally cleared.**

It is an open development and discussion record. It is not legal advice, a rights opinion, a license, a clearance certificate, or a representation that every referenced asset, person, recording, platform, or relationship is cleared for every contemplated use.

Legal clearance is an open matter for review by an **attorney retained for the project** before rights-dependent material is relied upon for a transaction, production, sponsorship, publication, distribution, integration, or other commercial use.

No public case study, credit, link, historical relationship, or platform listing should be read as granting permission for a new use.

## Response record

**Current status: No response.**

If an authorized representative responds, the project record should distinguish among:

- inquiry sent;
- delivery/receipt if actually confirmed;
- response received;
- private discussion;
- proposed terms;
- executed agreement;
- approved public statement.

A response is not automatically an endorsement. Interest is not a contract. Silence is not consent.

Private contact information, confidential business information, negotiation terms, or other non-public material should not be published without authorization.

## Public-source note

Bandcamp public pages are being used only as research/reference material for this proposal. They do not establish a relationship with 50 Ways.

## Project contact

The public repository and its issue tracker are the current review record. Any formal transaction would move to the appropriate private business and legal channels.
