Privacy Policy

Effective October 22, 2026 · Published with Dominique’s approval. This policy describes the accompanying site update.

This policy explains what information the website at 50ways.loptrlab.com (the “Site”) handles. The Site is operated by Loptr Lab, run by Dominique Devereaux (“we,” “us”). It is an independent development and documentation project. This policy is not legal advice.

The short version

The Site is a static, read-only website. It has no accounts, no sign-up, no comment system, and no checkout. We do not sell personal information. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers on the Site.

Information we receive

Server and hosting data. The Site is hosted on GitHub Pages. When you visit, GitHub, as our hosting provider, may process technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. We do not have a tool on the Site that reads this data for us. GitHub’s handling of it is described in the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Messages you send us. If you email questions@loptrlab.com, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to respond, to keep a record of the conversation, and to handle corrections, rights, or legal requests.

Public discussions on GitHub. Some pages link to public GitHub issues and repositories. Anything you post there is public, is governed by GitHub’s terms and privacy statement, and may be visible to anyone. Please do not post private or sensitive information.

Interactive demos. The Pixie v0.1 demo is a read-only prototype. When you submit a topic, your browser sends that topic to the Bluesky search API at api.bsky.app to retrieve public ATProto posts. The service receives the query and connection data such as your IP address. Public results do not make your search query private. Please do not enter personal or sensitive information. Other linked tools (for example Battle the Beast and Creator OS) are separate sites with their own practices.

Cookies and tracking

We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or cross-site tracking on the Site. The optional PLYR player does not connect until you choose “Load PLYR player”. Loading it sends connection data to PLYR and may allow that service to use cookies or similar storage under its own policies. “Unload player” removes the frame and stops that embed; it does not erase data already received by PLYR. External links and provider policies remain available without loading the player.

How we use information

We use information only to operate the Site, respond to messages, address corrections or takedown requests, protect against abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

The Site links to services we do not operate, including Audio.com, Audius, SoundCloud, Beatport, GitHub, Linktree, and external education providers. It also offers an optional embedded PLYR player and a Bluesky public search demo. Those services collect information under their own policies. A link is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for their practices.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers needed to run the Site (such as our hosting and email providers), when required by law, or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell your information.

Retention

We keep emails and correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and for ordinary record-keeping, then delete or archive them. Data held by GitHub or other third parties is kept under their policies.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing questions@loptrlab.com. Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Economic Area), you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor valid requests as the law requires. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

The Site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date above will change when we do, and the current version will always be at this address.
