Split Sheet

50 Ways to Leave Another — Loptr Lab / Dominique Devereaux

This document is executed per song. One split sheet per track. All parties agree the applicable terms before the track is delivered to any distributor, sync licensor, or playlist curator. Use fictional names and leave signatures unexecuted in the learning exercise.

Contributor Table

Complete one row per contributor. Songwriter shares and master shares must each total 100% independently. Record any producer points separately, with their payment base and recoupment terms; they are not a third ownership pool that must total 100%. Do not count the same participation twice.

Legal Name Role Songwriter % Master % Producer % PRO IPI / CAE # Provider contact (private) Signature Date
TOTAL 100% 100% As agreed; not an ownership total

Role codes: W = Songwriter/Composer · P = Producer · A = Recording Artist · SE = Session Engineer · V = Session Vocalist/Instrumentalist

Split Definitions

Songwriter % — The agreed share in the musical work (composition and lyrics), distinct from the recording. Record who administers each relevant right. A performing rights organization (PRO) registration does not replace mechanical-royalty registration, a sync permission or copyright registration.

Master % — The agreed share in the sound recording. Record the selected distributor or administrator and the signed accounting terms; no automatic routing is established by this worksheet.

Producer % — Point-based producer share of master income, if separate from Master %. Enter 0 if producer share is folded into Master %.

If Songwriter % and Master % differ for any contributor, note the reason in the Notes section below.

Payment Infrastructure

Proposed master-royalty system

Stem or another agreed provider may be selected. Before signing, confirm eligibility, fees, supported payout methods, identity/tax requirements, contributor invitations, statements, thresholds and payment timing in that provider's current written terms. Record who will administer the account. This template does not establish that an account, invitation or payment integration is active.

Use the Payment Setup Guide and cash-timing guide. The earlier promise of a free Stem account and a 45–60 day payment window was not verified in this review and is not an operative payment term.

Publishing / PRO (Songwriter Royalties)

Each contributor registers their songwriter share directly with their PRO (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, or international equivalent). Loptr Lab does not collect or distribute publishing royalties on behalf of contributors — each party is responsible for their own PRO registration for this work.

If a contributor does not have a PRO affiliation, they should register at ascap.com or bmi.com before this sheet is countersigned.

Session Fees (Non-Royalty Contributors)

The proposed flat-fee term is 14 days after final approved delivery, subject to the signed agreement. Record the agreed payment method and receipt; a Stripe invoice is a request for payment, not a payout to the contributor. Session fee recipients do not appear in the royalty split table unless separately negotiated.
