Contribution record

What you will make

Create one record for each person contributing to your practice project. Use fictional details for the course. Keep a separate record when a person's role, asset or terms change. This worksheet records proposed terms and evidence; it is not a signed agreement, a license or a transfer of ownership.

Complete the record

  1. Download the Markdown source at the bottom of this page and open it in a text editor, or copy the blank template below into your project notes.
  2. Replace each bracketed field. Write unresolved when you do not know; write not applicable only with a reason. Do not treat a proposal as agreement.
  3. Connect the proposed fee to your budget, ownership questions to the split sheet, and intended uses to the rights envelope.
  4. Save it in your project package as contribution-[fictional-name]-v1.
  5. Review the record with the contributor before using actual work. Keep real names, contact details, agreements and approval evidence in private records.

Fictional example — The Last Bus Home

This example uses the existing capstone. All people and fees below are fictional; all terms are proposals, not agreed rights or payments.

Field Completed practice example
Project / version The Last Bus Home, track A; PF record v1
Contributor / role PF, performer; record one original vocal take and one agreed revision
Timing Fictional week 1; recording date unresolved
Origin / AI New human vocal; no AI generation proposed; contributor origin declaration pending
Source evidence SOURCE-PF, pending; do not infer originality from delivery
Composition Unresolved: performance alone does not establish songwriting contribution
Master Proposed PF 25%; actual agreement pending; record full ownership totals in split sheet
Publishing / participation Unresolved; do not add another ownership pool
Credit Proposed “Performed by PF”; spelling and naming permission pending
Payment Estimated $700; proposed $350 before recording and $350 on agreed acceptance; not paid
Scope changes One revision proposed; quote and approve additional work before starting it
Uses Proposed private pilot evaluation only; term/territory unresolved
Exclusions No public release, sublicensing, synthetic voice or model training permitted by this worksheet
Voice / likeness Voice within proposed pilot only, subject to agreement; likeness unresolved
Exit Cancellation payment and unused-take handling unresolved; discuss before booking
Evidence / confirmation CR-PF private draft reference; no signature or permission obtained
Next action Producer and PF discuss fee, acceptance, intended uses and exit; obtain appropriate professional review

Check your work and continue

Done for this exercise means every field contains an answer or a clearly labelled unresolved question; proposed fees match the budget; the split sheet distinguishes composition from master ownership; and the rights envelope matches intended uses. Do not mark a real contribution approved without evidence.

Continue with the split sheet, rights envelope and assessment rubric. Bring unresolved questions to qualified help before a rights-dependent action. A completed worksheet alone does not authorize use of someone's work.
